A ratio compares two quantities. The ratio of a to b can be written as a:b, a/b, or "a to b". Order matters: 3:4 is different from 4:3.
How do I simplify a ratio?
Divide both parts by their greatest common factor. 12:18 simplifies to 2:3 (divide both by 6).
What is the difference between a ratio and a fraction?
